E. Merritt Lentz has dedicated himself to the representation of victims and families of loved ones who have suffered catastrophic personal injuries or death as a result of negligence, defective products, dangerous premises, construction accidents, commercial truck and motor vehicle accidents, as well as medical and nursing home mistakes. Important cases such as these require thorough and meticulous preparation, and Mr. Lentz handles each and every case as though it will go to trial before a jury. As a result of his aggressive approach and attention to detail, Mr. Lentz has obtained millions of dollars on behalf of his clients through trial and settlement. Mr. Lentz also handles workers’ compensation subrogation matters, and has recovered substantial amounts of money on behalf of insurance carriers and self-insured employers.

For several consecutive years, Mr. Lentz has been selected by the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star,” a distinction which is reserved for less than 2.5% of all lawyers in Pennsylvania under the age of 40, and is based on reputation, experience and ability. 

In 1999, Mr. Lentz obtained his bachelor’s degree with a concentration in economics and business from Randolph-Macon College. Thereafter, in 2002, Mr. Lentz earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he was also inducted into The Heuisler Honor Society for graduating in the top 7% of his class. While there, Mr. Lentz also served as associate editor of the University of Baltimore Law Forum, a legal journal dedicated to developments in Maryland law.

Mr. Lentz is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and State of New Jersey, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey. Mr. Lentz has also been granted admission to practice on a pro hac vice basis in many state and federal jurisdictions throughout the United States, including: Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, Puerto Rico and Utah. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, as well as the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association.
